Heart River

When painting a landscape it is good to:

  Note the time of day.

  The seasn of the year.

  Yhe direction of the sun.

  Where the water flows.

The names of the trees and where they lke to grow.

Why you are painting this particular landscape.

What is the focal point of this painting.

The creative process I learned as a student of Landscape Architecture at the University of Michigan has been invaluable to my career.

  How to analyze a problem.

  Conceive a singular concept.

  And build a solution.

  Be it cutting mats.

  Starting art shows.

  Building an art booth.

  Develop new medium.

Build a "paint mobile  " (vehicle).

Design a plain air easel  and indoor easel.

  Paint with a singular concept.

  Design  my web site.

  How to paint prairie grass.

How to make painting that looks like North Dakota.

  Thanks to professor William Johnson,

Johnson, Johnson and Roy, and the University of Michigan.
